Advanced Geometry
Students gain an understanding of geometrical concepts and
properties of shapes iin order to apply them in higher levels of
mathematics. Students also use reasoning and inductive skills to
solve geometrical problems.
At the end of the year, students from the advanced geometry
class spend a few weeks in the computer lab with an introduction
to JAVA programming.
Adv. Computer math
Using JAVA programming, students develop mathematical and
programming strategies by creating programs that incorporate math
and problem solving skills into a finished product. Studens learn
efficient programming as well as skills for determining strategies
for solving a problem.
CIW
Through learning the fundamentals of the Internet, students
learn the basics of web design such as using HTML, incorporating
hyperlinks, tables, frames etc. Students learn to both write code
manually as well as use GUI programming tools. At some point during
the year, students take the professional certification exam possibly
earning their Associate Certified Webmaster Professional Certification.
Adv. CIW
Students study more in depth the topics from the CIW class
as well as learn other concepts such as server-side technologies,
java applets, and cascading style sheets. At some point during the
year, students take the professional certification exam possibly
earning another web certification.
AP Calculus BC
This course covers all of the AP Calculus AB curriculum as
well as some additional AP Calculus BC topics such as polar and
vector series and parametrics. Course focuses on preparing students
for the Advanced Placement AP exam which, if a specified score is
obtained, may earn college credit to students in college.
