Summer 2005

The Summer Internship with TKC Management Services was a phenomenal experience for us. We worked with numerous organizations helping them increase their productivity in the field of business.

Major accomplishments include:

  1. Designed and built a client server envirnment for a new company Cazador Apparel, in order to establish a technological base for this company. In addition, we configured a new mail exchange server for communications.
  1. We developed an Intranet for TKC Communications. This Intranet contained most of the information in the company can be passed around digitally. Information that was incorporated in the Intranet was the following:
    • Employee Database
    • Human Resources Reference Material
    • Dashboard Management Reporting
    • Visitor Log
    • Company Location Database

  2. Analyzed, designed, and programmed an Internet website for TKC Commercial Services. This website is designed as company advertisement and for effective communications to exisitng clients, potential clients and other businesses.
  1. We worked with the Department of Interior and helped with the maintenance of their servers.

Summer 2006

TKC Communications, Lockheed Martin, Micron Technology, and J&S Networks offered internships for the 2006 Summer Internship program. Once again the experience gained by the student was invaluable.

Projects students worked on include:

  1. Created a company website
  1. Created product flyers and presentations
  1. Programmed in C++ and Java
  1. Computer maintainence (helpdesk)
  1. Created a company database
  1. Server Installations and Maintainence
  1. Network Installations and Maintenence


Summer 2007

28 students were placed in internships for the Summer 2007 Internship program. TKC Communications, Virtual Campus, Lockheed Martin, Micron Technology, ASCO, J&S Networks, The Prince William County Board of Supervisors and Data Tactics offered students internships. The experience was extremely beneficial with students working along side professionals.

Projects students worked on include:

  1. Created a server environment updating and maintaining two servers.
  1. Used VMWare to create a virtual machine
  1. Metal stripping and metal coating
  1. Website development
  1. Java and C++ programming
  1. Robotic testing
  1. Server Installation and Maintainance
  1. Network Installation and Maintainance
  1. Powder Coating and Stripping
