Jonathan R.- "Throughout my experience on this robotics team, I have learned the importance of hard work, patience and the willingness to go the extra mile for the team. The main thing that I assisted with was the building of the team web site, but some days I got 'down and dirty' with the building of the robot. My knowledge of those kinds of things they were doing was very minimal, but I did whatever I could to help the team out. Teamwork played a big role in building this robot, and I think everyone learned how to come together to get a common task and goal accomplished. That is what this entire competition is about." Jackie- "I have learned a lot about marketing and how to work well with others. I think that these virtues will help me later in life to deal with challenging tasks. I also think that this will help me to cope with the people in tasks that I have to complete in a constrained time period. " Joanna- "Robotics has expanded my knowledge about engineering and mechanics. It has helped me gain understanding about other subjects. It has been a very rewarding experience. This has also taught me how to be a leader with unexpected events being thrown into the mix " Ann-Marie-"I have been having a lot of fun cooperating and working with my friends.Working with the team helped me learn to work within a constrained amount of time with a large scope and limited funds. With help from the mentors we were able to get everything done with some time to perfect things that needed to be worked on. I can not wait until the competition in March!" Andrew- "I never knew I had an interest in Robotics until I attended the first couple Robotics meetings. The more I attended, the more I wanted to come. I never believed I would stay after school until 2am working on a school project, or give a team an entire 3 day weekend, but, I did and enjoyed it! My favorite times were building the robot and designing the strategy to win the competition." Brian- "Not playing a winter sport, I was looking for something interesting after school; so despite the critics, I joined Robotics. I enjoyed my time with the Robotics team, and the lessons trying to learn to program in 'C'. I see how important it is to pull my resources and get this robot working to its fullest potential. Mohammad- "I have learned that testing is very important in any project. One has to have determination to see a problem from discovery to resolution, rather than fiery. At 2am Saturday night/morning I realized I had just spent an entire night on a date with 118 pounds of metal, and more lines of program code (LUCKY ME!)." Sharon- "I've learned to be patient. I thought I was patient before, but working under a tight time from with so many things to do, has made me even more patient. Even in a stressful time I learned how to cope with the tasks that needed to be complete them. I learned how to complete them in a timely manner and complete them with the best quality. " Patrick- "I learned about hardware, tools and the construction process. During construction, I learned that cooperation is an asset to a successful build session. Even though we were working with limited resources and time we improvised and acomplished our goal to get the robot working corectly and to its maximum potential." Amy- "I've learned the importance of teamwork. I now see things from a different perspective. I have been exposed to new ways of thinking about problems. I believe that this experience will help develop my leadership skills and sharpen my skills when learning to work as a team. I believe that this competition will help me become a better and harder worker." Dan- "I learned how to use a saw. This experience of working on the robot was fun and exciting. Designing part of the website was fun but challening I learned a lot about teamwork and how to work well with others. I can't wait for the competition where we will blow all of the other teams out of the water!! " Jarod- "Scheduling is very important. I always wanted to be at Robotics, and did not like the scheduling conflicts working with the website was fun I learned how to work better with others and how to manage all of the pressure that was building on top of this website." Julie- "I have learned how to design a file structure for a website, and how important the file structure is. I have also learned how fast a good website can become large and could become unmanageable. I also learned more on page layout and overall design. Do..do and redo, became a way of life." Shannon- "After cleaning up file structions for four hours straight, I learned the importance of having a good structured file system. I also learned that it pays to take the time to make a web page and make sure it is done right. If you don't, you will be fixing your mistakes many times over. Also I learned how to make flash movies with pictures fading in and out. After doing fifteen of those flashes the process will be forever burned into my memory. Stephanie- "I learned that flash is both fun and irritable. I liked meeting new people and working on the web development team. We worked so well together, had fun, and built this web site in only six weeks! I must admit, it was a challenge, but it was fun to take the challenge on and complete it with this well done website." Michael- "Robotics taught me that I have to think about the design on my pages for both looks and file structures. I also learned how my friends can support me and teach me new techniques. Although some tasks were time consuming, they were the ones that came out the best. This competition taught me that while working on difficult tasks I can still see the light at the end of the tunnel. By recognizing all of the tasks that we have excelled in it is hard to see mistakes that we have made during this process. " Greg- "I had fun working with my class mates to achieve a common goal. Together we divided and conquered a web site design and build with many pages in only six weeks. I personally have learned from this experience by learning how to work with a team which I think will really help me when I go out into the world. "
